We know that God paid a lot for Jesus to save us and forgive us. If he went to so much trouble to buy our forgiveness, what good, right, or holy thing will he deny us? So, if God says “No” to our prayers, it is for our own good and for the eternal good of the people we’ve prayed for. His goal is to help, not hurt. His goal is to save and help. His goal is to make things work out for our good in the end (cf Rom. 8:28) as he changes us to be more like his favorite Son (Rom. 8:29).<\/p>\n

Thought<\/p>\n

We know that God paid a lot for Jesus to save us and forgive us. If he went to so much trouble to buy our forgiveness, what good, right, or holy thing will he deny us? So, if God says “No” to our prayers, it is for our own good and for the eternal good of the people we’ve prayed for. His goal is to help, not hurt. His goal is to save and help. His goal is to make things work out for our good in the end (cf Rom. 8:28) as he changes us to be more like his favorite Son (Rom. 8:29).<\/p>\n

Prayer<\/p>\n

Dear Father, I confess that I am sometimes impatient and frustrated when my prayers do not seem to obtain the response I seek. Please soothe and quiet my questioning heart. Please remind my spirit of your bountiful grace. Bring your peace and confidence via the ministry of your Holy Spirit to my human spirit. I do think that you desire to bring me your blessing and grace, therefore while I may not always understand the horrible things that happen in my life, I do trust that you are at work to make them all work for my benefit and your glory.
